Small pins keep B-Port leadscrew bracket from being removed

Thanks for your time.

Worked on the mill after a long winter break...I know, it's almost summer so sue me...

I was able to get the head, turret/ram, and table off today but had to stop due to rain (covered up my work thank you very much) and had an issue with the bracket that hold the x & y feed nuts.

Getting the socket head screws out was not a problem but as I attempted to pull up the bracket and rotate it 90 degrees to remove it, I noticed two small pins in between the screw holes that didn't allow the bracket to come up cleanly for rotation.

Any thoughts on what to do with those pins? Do I take a small punch and drive the through the bracket and into the saddle? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

They are dowel pins to accurately locate the bracket. Pull the bracket back about 1/2" to clear the pins (they usually come out with the bracket). I think you will bottom the pin out if you try to drive them in. They are there for a reason.
