I'm replacing a couple of lube lines on my Bridgeport mill but having trouble inserting the tubes in the holes made for them. Is there a trick to doing this?
After looking at it more closely it appears there's a brass bushing that is pressed into the casting that wedges the tubing in place. Looks like I'll have to pull the bushing out and drive in a new one. Can't believe Hardinge wants $10 for it.
I was finally able to extract the brass bushing and it's not at all like the Bijur or Hardinge parts catalog shows. It appears to be a straight, not tapered brass bushing with an OD of .250". I intend to make one instead of ordering a replacement part from the manufacturer.
