Have a mid 60's J-Head mill with the old gear style x-axis power feed. Need some information on the shear pin that is driven by the feed mechanism and goes through the table feed screw. What are the dimensions and what is the pin made of? Anybody have one they are willing to part with?
This machine is in the machine shop on the S.S. John W Brown (Liberty hip in Baltimore).

Thanks

In the 1966 manual on page 10, it's called a cotter (shear) pin.

Have seen a cotter pin or machine screw used. A 1" bolt with a 3/4' straight shank and 1/4" threaded end with nut might be the strongest. But a cheap old cotter pin works.
