Default Knee Crank/lever for Bridgeport needed..where to get?

You know the "knee-knocking" lever on the bridgeport that moves the bed up and down? It's a crank...we'll...a wreckless towmotor driver broke one here in the shop (at least it wasn't a warehouse full of vodka). I'd like to buy a replacement, but where in the world do I get one?

Thanks,
Rob

MSC has them, so should any metalworking tool supplier. You could call Hardinge/Bridgeport and order one from them too.

They've got an ad in the Home Shop Machinist magazine for one that fits in a hand held drill. I think it was about $50. One of my students made one this semester and it works really nicely.

Also, there are always a bunch of them on ebay, in various conditions and prices. Search for "crank handle" in the Business & Industrial section.

Thanks for all the responses! I've searched the Big Book..a million times and couldn't find it. So I finally called...and they helped me out.

So, for future reference for anyone who might search this thread with the same question:

Here it is:

Too late this time but I'm pretty sure they have them and most other BP parts at H&W Machinery Repair and Rebuilding, Inc. at

www.machinerypartsdepot.com

I've got handles, wipers and Bijur oiler parts from them and been very happy with their service and prices.

Drill 2 small holes in each piece, stub together with roll pins, & braze. The extra angle you have, will be just right to clear the cross feed handle when you put a power feed on the Y axis. I was warming mine up with a torch & it snaped, all I wanted was an extra inch.

If anyone wants to make a crank handle or driver for a drill, the clutch part on the shaft is available from most Bridgeport parts dealer pretty cheaply and it fits itself! Could save some milling by just securing it to a spindle or handle.

Yes, you are correct. I did the same thing! Works great! And I would look on eBay for a replacement knee crank. You will be able to find a genuine BP no problem.
