Anyone downloaded solidworks 2014 from website?

The IT guys came in and changed out my computer. They are trying to download the SW upgrade. 4 hour later and I'm at 28%. Anyone else had this problem or know a solution?

It is a large gulp but it should not take THAT long. You on DSL? I can remember way back when using dial up to download solidworks. I'd connect and let it go all night.

I'll get those guys back over here tomorrow. Its probably fighting our system protection, firewalls and such.

How fast is Solidworks downloading at? I believe Solidworks is around 15gb just for X64 version.


I try to download a 1gb service pack and it takes hours. I go home and it takes minutes

It should not take that long if you are being limited by the solidworks server bandwidth. My guess is that you are being limited by your download link.

I did download it - my recollection is that it was about 5Gb. That said, I have no record of that so I could be wrong. I have a 15Mbit download speed with 30Mbit burst rate. I think it took 20 to 30 minutes.

Wouldn't work here, had them put it on a thumb drive. Took about 20 min to load from that.

I just checked its 14gb for both versions so 7GB just for X64
