hello,
recently upgraded to v27, then about 3 weeks later v28.
problem i'm having is bob does not exit completely and will not restart til you go to task manager and end the process. had same issue with v27.
found the issue on the trouble shooting part of the web site. so far have reinstalled software as suggested with out any success.

running on newer (6 month old) hp laptop with win7 pro. and its updated.
other than that seems like a real good update. only ran v27 for about 3 weeks and it was freezing and crashing a couple times a day. have not had v28 crash on me yet.
suggestions?? have not had time to call support

thanks

Your best bet is email or give tech support a call. They will get you sorted out. On my end I've been running V28 for a few weeks now and are not experiencing any issues closing the software. I run on windows 7 professional.

Post back if you get it sussed. I get the frequent crashing bug too and would be interested to hear if 28 has solved that. Also if it works with the new Winblows 10.

Yeah,it does the same here as the OP stated,,,also did it with V27 demo.
It is not a crash,it apparently just doesn't close all the way.Open up task manager and there she is,,,not using any resources, but nevertheless have to end process to open up BoB.

update (hopefully), as of yesterday, it has been working correctly, the only thing that has changed i can think of is on friday evening when i shut down it installed 2 windows updates, not even sure what they were.
even v27 is closing down completely.
also did not mention, when i launched the software it would give a warning about some script not running, believe it had to do with bobcad live, anyway thats working now as well, no more script warning.
hum:confused:

What's happening is if you turn BoB Live off,,the software does not close all the way.
If you turn it on,everything works as should.
Big Brothers way to make sure your software not Pirated ???

Bobcad for little boys, thats funny. Like Haas is for little girls... :)

I myself more than happy with what bobcad does. If i shit 10 or 12k for it like mastercam, might be a different story. You get what you pay for no doubt..

alright spoke with tech finally, one thing i didn't mention in the op, the computer i'm currently running on is a lap top. tech thinks maybe that because the graphics chip is on board is causing my problems. my drivers are up to date as he recommended.
had v25 on same lap top and have no issues with it. so i'm not really satisfied the graphics is it.
thinking i'm going to load v28 on my gaming rig at home this week end, same operating system, 8 gig ram, 2 gig video card, and see what it does then.

the other issue with script not running warning at start up is due to apparently i don't have the latest version of internet explorer.
thats all i got :skep:

here is what I run

Turning off online "help" seems to almost make it go away,,,at least not as frequently.

Way back in the good old days, Bobcad used to leave a troublesome remnant in the Temp folder that would muck with your next start up if Bobcad had previously closed down incorrectly. You might have to do some searching to find your Temp folder on modern versions of Windows (its not the Temp folder in the Windows directory, its your personal Temp folder)....its under Local disk/Users/your log in/settings/temp. That folder is always accumulating crap from who knows where. I clean that out once in a while....you might be able to use disk clean up to do it.
