I am curious for your opinions on software. I have never used cam software but have used CadKey99 cad software. I would not say that I am the best at it but do well enough to get my prints done. I am looking to purchase a cnc mill in the near future and possibly a cnc lathe at a later date. I would like to get some new software that I will be able play with now so that I may hopefully be ready to go when I get the machine. Thanks again....

You would do well to search the forum for other similar threads. There's plenty of them.

On the other hand, I just got a promotional in the mail the other day for KeyCreator. You can upgrade your CadKey (old) to KeyCreator (new) for around $1000. They also have a real decent CAM package available. (with MCU - Meta Cut Utilities) The CAM is not included with the upgrade, though.

Also go a google search for "cad cam" "cam software" or the like. Often you can download demos of some software to get a feel for it. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesnt.
