Default Convert cadkey .prt to autocad .dwg

New customer uses Cadkey, is there some utility I can use to convert them? Trying to make it painless for the customer. RJT

In Cadkey I think they should be able to pick: Files, translate, export, dwg. to send you a dwg. file instead of a prt. file. That might be the easiest if you don't mind asking them for a easier file for you to work with.

I think it's easiest for them to "Export/dxf" but that's just me... as for your in-house translator from .prt to dwg, you contact Kubotek and see if they have any conversion utilities. They used to when it was just Cadkey.

Default File export dxf.....

The best way may be to simply export the files as DXF or DWG from cadkey, it is really painless for the customer also.

Depending on the cadkey version you should expect the file to be an old version like autocad 12 or something like that. If the file is exported from cadkey as a dxf, I have had no problem using it to get geometry. I have not tried the IGES export from a cadkey solid, but have seen it kind of work...

Default Cadkey files

RJT,
How many files are there? If there's just a few, send them over and I could do them for you. I understand not wanting to ask the customer.
