Hey guys I need to do a drawing of a sprocket to get quotes from other shops I just wanted to check the proper way of dimensioning formal drawings so we don’t have any confusion. It’s a double row chain should I just draw the OD and put a leader to it saying it’s a B2 (X No. of teeth) or should I try get as much information as I can on it?

If anyone could point me to a standard that would be fantastic

oh I should have said its 06B-2 I have found the Pitch Diameters and widths but am unsure of tollerances

There is a section in Machinery's handbook, probably can sort it out from there.

What is the overall configuration of this that makes it so difficult to modify a stock sprocket or build your own hub and weld an A plate to it?

Go to mcmaster.com and look at their gears and download the solid and modify it to your needs then send the file out for quote no real need of a drawing for a quote
