Is there such a thing as a Solidworks Viewer where a model can be interrogated in it's native format?

I don't need to do any editing to the model, as I'll make all of that in Inventor, I just want to see the feature tree, how it was built using other, mating components
and to see if there is some notes or descriptions to the individual features.

For example, without drawings ( yes, yes, I know ... ) I have no clue as to what or where one feature is dimensioned to/from and their relations.
Also, these guys often model a hole as a .315, and yet it's actually a 3/8-16 tap through, or a clearance for a 5/16 bolt.
For this application, I don't actually blame their method of working this way. The parts are structural components to be used in more than one format, often finished during assembly.
As such, it's easier to manage only one model and inventory the finished part than to draw and then keep 10 or more variety of the same on the shelf.

So again, all I'm looking for is a way to view the SW model with it's feature tree.

Thanks
