Hypermill 5 Axis
We are considering a new hypermill 5 axis. Has any one used this system. Is it easy to use
how much can we expect to pay for one seat ?

Get a Quote, get a Demo and ask can you call existing customers that are using it in your area.
If they won't let youcall existing customers i'd stay clear, if no VAR\dealer in your area for support i'd be worried also.

I had a demo a few years back and it was pretty impressive. But Hypermill is expensive, especially when you add on all the 5-axis modules you may need. WorkNC, on the other hand, is equally impressive and substantially cheaper.

The Cost is a lot more than I was thinking 23K for full 5 axis 3.3K for maintenance 6k for training

That's about half of what I was quoted.

That is about what I was quoted, HELL of a lot cheaper then Mastercam 5axis. The thing that killed it for me was the lack of user base, and training materials. It looks like a really sweet program.

In the US, MCX level 3 is about $13k, and another $4k for the advanced multi-axis add-on. Canada's Mastercam prices are though.

Thanks for the reply. The lock of training material does seem to be a problem. What is the cost on MC in full 5

Tell me about it.
My ex-coworker got 30 Grand quote from MC for a lathe-mill package and that is not even a 5 axis.
Dealers will try to squeese as much as possible from their customers. Hence the whole point of not disclosing their price up-front. But they WILL try to make some sort of "bargain" with you

Used to use hypermill here....great package, I would put it up against any other. Like any other "advanced" software it has a big learning curve. Price was the biggest issue.....when Mastercam finally added in real 5 axis paths (in X2 I believe) we dropped hypermill. Way too much $$$ and it made more sense to only be using one package.
30 grand for mastercam's "lathe-mill"???? what a joke....as far as I am concerned, they don't have a real lathe-mill package.
15 grand got us mill level 3 with full 5 axis not long ago....but that was with a multiple seat discount (like 10 seats)
