I am new to mastercam X9 lathe and am having trouble with the tool placement.
I have a HAAS TL-1 with a Dorian tool post.
as of now mastercam is putting the tool on the opposite side of the geometry.
what do I need to do to change this in the software?
I am sure it's doable just need some help.
thank you
Mike

Go into your toolpath parameters, right click on the tool you need to adjust, click edit tool, then click setup tool. From there you ought to be able to get it to where you need.

If you don't have any toolpaths drawn up you'll want to do it from the lathe tool manager. In that case, when you open X9, click the machine type drop down, select lathe. Then click the toolpaths drop down and click the lathe tool manager. From there you can use the same right click, edit, setup instructions and set up your tool library from there.

I have a 2016 TL1 with Dorian tool post. You do not need to change anything in the CAM system. The HAAS control is set up to automaticaly put the tool path on the proper side of the spindle for the manual tool post.
