Default Need help doing lathe toolpaths in mastercam

I know i am only missing one small step but for the life of me cannot figure out how to draw toolpaths on this part. It's a very simple part but i have never messed with the lathe stuff in mastercam before. I keep getting a " does not lie on c-plane error no matter what i try.

I am running X3

stock size .875 x.875 +chuckable mat.

The views in the picture are not oriented, but shown just to give an idea of what the part is.

Try setting up your planes firsts, your still on X-Y-Z when you should be on D( or R) and Z. Once you have your stock and jaws set up, you should be good to go.

First you need the part oriented so that you are machining along the Z axis. Preferably the face of the part will be Z0 and the body of the part will lie entirely in -Z. you can do this a number of ways but for single operation I find transform > translate, and Transform > rotate to be the easiest way to get the part oriented. From there define your stock. Then, on a new level, extract the edges of the model using the create curve > from edge function make sure you are in the X Z plane (hit alt+1). Once you have a chain of edges you can start your tool paths.
