    Well the sldprt files will open right up. Your gunna need to know how to use layers and extract edges. I recommed you read some of the help files on those 2 topics.

    The other thing is in v23 you'll need to move the part to zero and if you are working with sldprt files you'll have to rotate the part 90 in x to get the top of he part in the x y plane.

    So you ll also want to read on rotate and translate. Translate is what bobcad calls move.

    If you are doing simple 2d parts you 'll need wire frame. That's what you use extract edges for. You ll use the layers to keep the solid on one and the wire frame on the other. This way you can turn off the solid layer making it easier to select and measure the wire frame.

    If you don't have a copy to learn on at home, download the v23 off our website. Just click on support and downloads. You ll find v23 listed at the bottom.

    There are a few rules to learn just like any cam ad I ll be here to guide you through it.

    Side note, really you haas is f ed up already dang.

    thx buddy i just dont get it im offering to do this on MY OWN time!! Just first week well get it figured out Never had time to check mill at all as long as spindle ok ill throw some M00 and write huge text for manual tool changes to get this project done.... DUE THE 18TH!!

    THX POALO what is your website u mentioned to get bobcad?? I would like to get v23 of 09 and just toy around with it i know theres a lot to it and its complex just trying to get head start< nevermind i checked your profile and understand now, I think what your company is doing is AWESOME!!

    Your not just answering specific questions that only pertain to bobcad but u r helping people with various CAM problems/questions. I think that is very, very cool Thats why I love the machining community,the people in our community are very helpful to each other.
