Job Responsibilities
The Matsuura Service Assistant is responsible for supporting service department needs. The position also performs duties to support a consistently high quality of service support on machine sales and effective support of the operational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate warranty claims with Parts Assistant
• Assist with incoming service calls, gathering information, and directing calls to proper person
• Assist with planning and scheduling of service training events at MMU office
• Attend service department meetings, take notes and follow up as needed
• Coordinate preparation of service department presentation materials including power points and written reports for Service trainings
• Create and monitor SRO’s in ERP system, make a weekly open SRO report and complete invoicing SRO’s once service work is completed
• Create PO’s for the service and applications departments
• Enter inbound call sheet data into ERP system and create incident reports
• Enter machine install reports and supply parent company in Japan with inventory evidence reports, coordinate with Sales Assistant in obtaining install documents
• Input and/or assist with service personnel labor input to ERP System and create a monthly labor report
• Maintain open lists of parent company in Japan’s required updates (modification kits, software upgrades, etc.) that need to take place, coordinate with Service scheduling to best utilize field technical time when at the customer location
• Obtain and maintain FANUC data and documents
• Proofread spindle install documents
• Prepare spreadsheet analysis, internal communication pieces, written reports, management summaries and miscellaneous service reports as needed
• Produce and maintain technical bulletins and repair manuals
• Record and maintain 3rd party options manuals and retrofit options from parent company in Japan
• Maintain machine manuals and electrical prints in Dropbox
• Possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and Matsuura Machinery product lines
• Performs other related duties as assigned


Job Skills/Requirements
• Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• Mechanical and electrical repair knowledge preferred
• Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills as well as the ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics are required
• Knowledge of Matsuura Machinery product lines is a plus
• Motivated self-starter, team player able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Microsoft Office products knowledge required
• Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
• Candidate must pass a criminal background check and drug test
