If you want the details on how to apply, send me a PM and I'll hook you up. I didn't want to plaster contact information all over the internet.

i had a night school instructor who used to work a day job too. every year he had to apply for night school instructor job same as everybody else.
.
not sure why. maybe just 1 year employment contract and school does not offer more as it gives them a chance to more easily not to hire the same person if needed

This could be the start of a rewarding career for the right applicant. The program could either thrive or suffer with the wrong applicant. One thing that I do not see is whether or not a excellent retirement package is included for the successful applicant. If not, I would not touch this with a 10 foot pole. Just my opinion having completed a career with the same requirements in Wisconsin, the difference being Wisconsin had a excellent retirement, which I am able to enjoy.

pay is actually not high. a cnc operator working overtime a lot could easily make $10,000 more a year
.
but some people like to teach and do not like overtime. they want regular work hours
.
many teachers without tenure have to apply for job every year. basically a employment contract just for that year.
.
i also have heard of jobs where you got $35/hr but no benefits. any benefits you wanted you paid for from the $35/hr including vacation, medical, retirement, retirement 401k match, etc. So often what seems ok pay with no benefits is actually quite low in pay.

It takes a special person to thrive as a teacher. You can't just stand there, rare back and profess. Students are able to discern whether or not you know about what you profess to teach. I saw a student critique of an instructor, it went like this: "We all stood around him as if he was a big pile of shit, and we all had spoons."

best teacher i had brought some fairly complicated parts in that he had machined and ask students to think how would they setup and program. since parts were fairly complicated most students did not know how they would make the parts. he encouraged questions from students working a day job too, to ask questions about any current jobs they had. he also often mentioned he knew of jobs if any student was looking for a job.
.
he actually was a gentleman and a scholar and he also taught good cnc classes. i actually was surprised to learn he had to apply for the night school teacher job every year. it was only a yearly contract
