I'm new to the forum and really enjoy the exchange of information. I'm in the process of restoring a 1935 LeBlond Regal. The quick change gear box is missing the 18 tooth gear. The gear is a 14 1/2 PA and 14 DP gear as far as I can tell. Non-standard so the usual gear suppliers don't offer a gear I would be able to modify to fit. My questions are:
1. Can anyone confirm that LeBlond used 14DP gears? (Unfortunately I do not have a gear pitch gauge but the other gears match to a 14DP image I downloaded.)
2. Can anyone recommend someone that could cut a gear for me. (It is a simple spur gear for a 3/4" keyed shaft.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The rest of the lathe is in pretty good shape considering the age. My first old iron restoration although I've restored several cars.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can confirm 14DP by measuring a gear that ran with the one missing

Count teeth, add TWO, and divide by mic OD of that gear (assumes no burrs, dirt or raised metal to mic over:) )

Example

18 teeth, 1.429 mic OD

20 divided by 1.429 = 14
