Well, we made it in one piece. I was sick as a dog last Sat (didn't realize how bad I was until later) but hopped in the old 72 Chevy C-20 Custom Camper, hooked up the flatbed trailer and set out on the three hour tour. Week before I had thrown my back out so bad I could hardly walk for two days after I unloaded 14 sheets of 3x12ft 1 1/4" thick walkway grating by hand because the loader battery was dead. The 8 hr round trip ride in the old truck didn't help that.
Got it loaded and tied down and headed home. No troubles at all, except stopping for gas halfway. Averaged a little over 7.5mpg with the 4100lb mill on there. Going to let it live tarped on the trailer for a month of two, while I clear out space in the shop and handle some other stuff. Only thing missing is the quill handle. Need to get a pic of a VN quill handle to fab a replica. Looks like it may have been leaned over or something banged into it and broke the handle off.
