With the closing of Cast-Fab the final part of the once largest machine tool maker in the world will be no more. Cast fab was the foundry section of Cincinnati milling machine company and made most of the castings for the many mills, grinders and specialty machine tools built from the 40's thru the 90's. I am certain after the auction the buildings will be demolished and they will put an Applebees there or something similar. When the foundry was built it was considered one of the most advanced foundries in the world and was capable of many grades and treatments of castings needed for making high end machine tools. http://www.myronbowling.com/_filelib/FileCabinet/2017_FLYERS/Cast-Fab_Flyer.pdf

FWIW, the Milacron LLC Cimcool plant, located adjacent to The Foundry, remains open and functioning.

The grinding wheel manufacturing plant, along with the Cimcool plant, was part of the Cincinnati Milacron Products Division. The grinding wheel business sold years ago to Tyrolit. That corporation operated and eventually closed that portion of the Products facility and all grinding wheel production moved to a Radiac facility in Illinois.
