RPM Limitation on a later Pratt & Whitney Model C 12x30

Hello all, I have a nice P&W 12" Model C from the 50's that runs up to 1000 rpm. It is currently set up with a VFD and I was wondering if it is feasible to overspeed the motor to get higher RPMs for smaller work. Some of the literature I have read implied that there was a 2000 RPM version available and I can't help but wonder if that was a simple pulley change.:scratchchin:

Obviously I don't want to run the machine faster than it was designed for, but if I can get higher speeds with no harm then I'd be thrilled.

1500 is the highest I know of, and this was the last of them

What will drive you nuts is the additional noise from left end gear train

Do make sure the oil pump is actually bringing oil up from way down as designed and that all metering plugs are actually delivering oil

Thanks for the input, that is one of my bigger concerns, that the oiling system would have issues at the higher speeds. I might just increase it slowly and keep an eye on the oil flow. The machine is too nice to risk damaging, but since a lot of my parts are <1" it would be nice to have some additional speed.
