Just wandering if any one has hooked a servo and or motor to traverse table gear to a achieve slower creep feed. I have rebuilt the hydraulics and still cannot achieve a constant .5 to 3 inches per/min .
Any thoughts?

A B&S 450 appears to be a grinder.
The OP appears to have asked if anyone has ever added a servo feed to one, and does anyone have an opinion about adding a servo to one.
The location of the OP is quite vague.

What the OP did not do, is SPAM on the first post. So, this looks pretty legit.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know this "grinder", nor the hydro system entailed, but could you add some flow controls in places that maybe they weren't originally? This sounds like a slower feed than maybe it was originally designed for.

Or are you trying to turn it into a "creep feed" grinder?

Even if so, more head pressure may help to get where you want to go.

EDIT:
Could you change to a bigger D cylinder?
This would allow slower feeds at same flow rate.
But possibly more importantly - it would offer more security (rigidity?) for climb/creep grinding.
(If that's the app)

You could try again in the robotics and automation forum.

Somebody else might see it, and have (helpful) ideas.
