Just scored a GAMET standard lever chuck off sleezebay. Looks to be a NO (normal opening) It's an A5 direct mount for my Takisawa for 200 bucks. Did I do alright??? Anybody ever use a Gamet chuck? This will open up turning options for me as I only got a collet nose with the lathe when I bought it. I know is not a Powerhold.

Gamet is a good chuck. Check out your serrations and master jaw dimensions before you order top jaws, most Gamets are 1/16' X 90° serrations, not metric.

powerhold is a distributor for the gamet (french) chucks, so if you need parts or service you can go to them. the chuck itself appears to be in decent shape other than being a little dirty. the mounting taper appears to be nice and clean, no visible dings or brinelling from chips. guess you'll find out when you mount her up and start makin chips.
