I need to make an .094 wide groove 3/16" deep and 2" down in a 1.500" bore.

My #3 Top Notch insert JUUUUST won't quite make it in stock form.
The bottom of the insert is taking out about .004" on Diameter.
I knew that it was gunna be close, but I thought it was gunna work, but ... nope! :o

I can (and will) put these on Jenny to make fit, but I really don't like grinding on inserts all that much...

I looked into a #4 bar/insert, but the smallest of those has a 2.500 min bore, so that dog don't hunt...

Anyone know of someone with more depth reach in stock form in an insert type tool off the cuff?

Be aware too that they are single sided inserts.

Ahhhh!

I was wondering if they just ground it back further and you need to relieve the bar (hard to believe - but my bar has already been on Jenny anyhow) or if they projected it out further, and then that put into question how they seat it back in where it needs to be.

So that answers those questions!

Thanks!

Makes me wonder if they offer the same thing in a threading insert.

Ox, weren't you dealing with that on that other part? Your internal threading bar couldn't quite reach?
