Siemens 840C "No End Of Program" error

840C control on 2 axis lathe. Started giving this error this morning when new program was simulated. M30 is present. Giving error when proven programs are loaded.

Technically M30 is end of tape, M02 is end of program. Did something get re set to make this start recognizing it differently? I would substitute an M02 in place of the M30 and try it.

Do you have a line feed (lf) after the M30, can't say I have not made that mistake before.

This is not my machine. The folks that have it say that there is a (soft?) button that says of of program. When it is pressed, M30 is output to screen.

I can understand if they made a mistake on the new program, but on a proven program that has run before??

I'll ask them to try M02 or M2.

News Flash!! They just called me to say that they turned off the machine for half an hour and now it works. Sounds like Windows crap to me.

I find that whenever an unexplained error pops up on our 840c that re-booting the control will make it go away. Not a good thing. Waiting for the day when the hard disc blows up!
