Fadal thrust bearing seal question

So I look up the seal that is supposed to go on the Fadal thrust bearings. Measuring my existing part, the OD of the seal must be 1.50 dia and .25 thick.
Now the inside diameter of the seal is listed as 1-1/8 ID, however when measuring my ball screw and the end nut the outside diameter is 1.060 diameter. So the seal doesn't even touch the ball screw? How can that keep grunt from getting into the ball screw thrust bearings?

If I remember correctly, those seals are for the cooling through the ball screws,
not to keep the schmootz out..

I can't tell you much about the size discrepancy, but it might not ride where
you think it does... I ran down to he parts store once to buy new seals,
(and they actually had one that I needed or thought I needede.) and it ended up that the
ID was too small.... And I don't remember why I got one that was too small, and I didn't
find out until I tried to put it all back together.

If you've already eliminated the ball screw cooling, I wouldn't even worry about it.
