I was running my Mighty Viper 2100 with a chip-blaster, and the thru spindle coolant wouldn't shut-off.
What gives?
Why doesn't the M09 work?
Switch stuck?
????

Yep high pressure still on,
It read the M9 in the program, but the coolant didn't shut-off.
Then I tried an MDI, M09....nope. Still on.
Then MDI, M9....nope, still on.
I had to turn off the high pressure unit.
GGGRRRRRRRRRR

I would check the ladder or the bit status on the control and see if the Y-address for the coolant on solenoid is shutting off. If this is the case then your problem may be down-line in the solenoid for your coolant. This could explain the manual coolant shut off not functioning properly.

Now I am cornfused....

Are we still wondering why it satys on yet?

You have a secondary pump (motor) that is producing high pressure coolant. You run an M9 and shut down the stock (low press) pump and the high press still runs. Even if the high press is drawing from the low press pump, if you shut down the low press, the high will continue to draw fluid through the low press pump even if it is shut down.

(Diesel inj pump will run for a LONG time with a dead lift pump once primed.)

If the high press pump doesn't draw from the low, it still has it's own motor starter and would require a diff M code? It WOULD seem like a good ladder would shut down all coolant in an M9 condition tho...
