Default Fanuc Ref point problem....090 Alarm

    Hello,
I am vorking on crazy machine-graziano cnc lathe.
We replaced rails and runners on Z2 axis. When put everything back together ..no problems. Machine runs about 2 hrs and than some alarm come up.
My man shut the power down- and up
But now we have problem to do ref point.
Alarm is 090 ... unsuccessful rep point approach...in Italian language.
Machine is equipped with glass scale, fanuc control(18)..

Machine moves freely in JOG mode.

But when ref. its kind of jumping short distances very slow.
Numbers will go 0-.025-.037 etc... it is not `normal` move
and than it will alarm out.
Machine is with 2 turrets ... and it happening on X2

What is my problem? some broken wire?

    thanks

Some scales only have one reference mark and some have as many as the OEM specified.

Assuming the home limit switch isn't stuck which would make it try to home at the reference speed specified in the parameter (slow) you need to have at least 128 counts of following error prior to seeing the reference mark so it should go at a fast clip until it see the decel dog then slow down and look for the marker.

If you have absolute scales then it's another matter.

    thx for the reply

After i open covers on the side i discover cable to the glass scale was damaged.
Further investigation ...i found 2 tiny wires broken out of 8-10 ( did not count how many are there).Maybe this explain good reading on JOG and jumping on referencing...dontknow

So , we put those wires together and everything is ok now.
I had 1 screw litlle to long , and that is the one which cause problem.
