Hello,
I came across a project where I need to groove turn 4340. Right now I am using a GT3 insert on a parting tool, which seems to be working but also seems pretty sketchy by the way things sound.
Machine is a Hurco TM6, 4340 @ 30 HRc. Groove is straight and mearsure 4" in length and 3/4" total depth.
Can someone recommend a tool? My machine takes 3/4" tool holders.
