Hello All,

I hope someone can help because I feel I have tried everything
I can think of.

I have a Brother TC22A (A00 control), and want to upload a program
to it, and everything I've tried has failed.

I've used Brother Comm , and Hyper terminal software.

I set the Brother and the PC to the same modem values (baud rate..etc.).

I can download OK, but no upload. I've tried hardware and Xon/Xoff
protocols. I've tried PTP/PTR, and computer on the Brother side.

I've tried sending .txt and .NC files -no luck.

What's strange is I start the upload and I get back from the Brother:
"%L O200 % (O0200 is the program number), the second "%" I think
should tell me that all is received, but the Brother says it's still
receiving and it never stops trying to receive, and there is no program
O0200 listed in the program directory.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong - PLEASE HELP (before I go nuts)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I can’t remember off the top of my head...I can look into it tomorrow but it might have to do with O’s and 0’s and %’s....(I think there are NO “%’s” at the beginning and end of the program?) I remember bashing my head against my first A00 machine for a while, too. BrotherFrank and 2outof3 would also know...

PM me your email and I will send you a short program to try that I know uploads on mine. I use the brocomm utility and file name matters, all comments in caps, lots of little details.

I assume you are not trying to use a usb adapter? I was never able to get that to work. For mine I made a cable according to the pinout in the brocomm help file and set the settings accordingly and it works.

Hello all,

A big shout-out to Peter, He's the real Deal!!

Can I get a groan?

But kidding aside he was a real life saver and he stayed
with me until we had success.

Hi all,

The final solution:

Use Brother Comm.

Follow their setup procedures for the TC22A and a PC.

Make the file name used on the PC the same as the program number used on the TC22A side.
For example if the program number to be used on the TC22A side is O0025, then the file
on the PC side would be O0025.NC.

Get rid of all extraneous headers - leave just G-code as the first line. Peter says you can
have comments as long as they are in all CAPS, however I haven't tried that out yet.

Once you get this all setup correctly, all you need to do is just turn on the TC22A, bring up
Brother Comm, and send the file to the TC22A, and your done.

All the setup information can be found in the HELP section.
