Who makes the best insert drills 2.5" and up?

I tried sandvik, don't like, tried allied don't like.

Anybody got any manufactures?

How is SECO?

Talk to Curtis on here, ( exkenametal ) on here. I have purchased koroloy and Sandvik inserted drills from him and they worked better than I expected.

I like Kyocera's DC series. I had some 3" holes in 4140 a while back and compared against Sandvik and they ran all over them. It used up every bit of a true 50 HP gear box spindle so make sure you have the ponies to push it. For lower HP machines I recommend Super drill by SHOWA. They make them up to 270 MM diameter and all of the ones I have used have great chip control. The largest I have ever used was a 8" but would love to see that 10.5 toy doing some work.

I ised so far kyocera , iscar, slightly sandvik and sumitomo.
Sumitomo is my favorite,
Kyocera is probably worst.
Sumitomo was better 3 times than iscar in 304 SS, kyocera wont even work there

Rev drill by allied, no much can touch it. But once your centerdrilling it is usually reffered to as an opening drill. The allied drills we use require no center drill. If you dont like allied your using the wrong style allied...probably using a spade.
