We currently machine two ends to this clear Trogamid plastic. I face, bore and groove the internal all with the same tool. The tool is a coated carbide tool from MSC and is a .090 wide groove. The problem is that the Trogamid is fairly abrasive to the tooling and when chamfering the hole there will be small threads of materal that must be deburred by hand. When the boring tool is new it cuts pretty clean. After about 1000 parts it gets stringing. The bore is .400 that the tool goes into. We also blow air in the part to get rid of the chip. Any thoughts would be helpful.

While I once drilled 36000 holes in plastic with a single 1/8"drill, I know that not all materials are that cutter friendly. Still, you can't really be complaining if the tool works well for 1000 parts.....(?)
