I have a job that consists of machining and drilling C110. I have done a search on google and get all of the usual answers, use milk, lard, kerosene, etc. None of these I am willing or going to do. So does anyone machine C110 in their VMC with flood coolant, if so what spindle speeds, SFM, chip load, depth of cut etc. do you use. I am thinking of using a new HSS 2 flute 1/2" cutter for aluminum. I have facing, profiling and pocketing to do as well as drilling and tapping( oh boy) to do. Any help would be appreciated, I would rather not have to "experiment" too much.

C110 is really not too bad to cut. The biggest hurdle is tapping, just take your time.

Why are you wanting to use HSS? Use a 3 flute carbide.

I just quoted a job with this same material. I was wondering how the tapping would go. I'm using a Bridgeport though.
