I am trying to thread mill a 5/8-8 acme thread but I am having no luck at all. Can any one give me a sample program to compare?

It is basically a helical interpolation, an optional feature.
Please post your program, and the problem you observe.

Most threadmill manufacturers will have a calculator of some sort that will generate the program for you.

I assumed single point tool.

You didn't mention where you where having issue...
I know when I ran a similar my issue was too much surface contact for tool size. 316SS x 1" in 1/2" 5 Acme...several broken tips later I found I had to rough high then low followed by a to size centered. Slow but job went out.

To simplify things, thread milling can be done even without radius compensation. You need to find and use the radius of the circle traversed by the axis of the tool.
