Hi.

I have this old lathe with fanuc 6t. All the problems started when i bought the machine.
It has never worked at my job i believe it has broken during the move.
But to the problem here is what i know at the moment.
Chuck wont clamp or move at all. Pedal is working according to the diagnostics.
110v is missing from the magnetic valves that control the chuck. 24v is missing from the relays that controls the chuck magnetic valves.
And spindle board only has 5v its missing 15v -15v and 24v.
What i should be looking next?

I can only home the axis and index and change the tool and then the fun stops :) MDI wont work at all i cant jog the spindle or change the gear.

Find the 24V power supply.

If is home project lots of fun, read all online info.
if is business, get a fanuc tech, and done with it.
he will fix it in no time, had something similar and I wasted time equals money, trying to fix myself,$900 cost to repair and was making money again.

Have YOU even ran this machine before?
There is a specific start up process to get the machine to function.

I have a tmc3 and may be able to help you out some.
I bought mine unpowered and in a storage facility.
Found that rats had built a lovely nest in the right hand control pendant. A little soldering and clean up, and away it went.

The transformers have to be set PRECISELY!

Yea there is whole lot of nothing going on :D
No i havent used the machine because it broke during the move? But the previous owner came to take a look at the machine and couldn't get it to work either.
And the previous shop had same electricity as mine so there should be no need for transformer settings?
Oh and also sometimes overload led lights on the spindle board. And if i take all of those flag fuses off of that board it gives no warnings?
And yes im in the business but this machine wait a while. Had one cnc specialist three times here and he didnt find anything :D

Yea i found that its missing those. Yes it has that board and it has 24v

You have 24v at the supply, but you don't somewhere else.... ???

So, you start chasing wires 'till find where you stop having 24V.
If you have it here, and not there, then you likely have a blown fuse, or an ice cube that's not pulling in.
Why is the ice cube not pulling in? What else does it need to see? Follow those wires back if you don't have a schem.

This is the easy part of diagnosis. It is hard wires. They are physical, and you can see and touch them.

Oh there is wrong information in the first post. there is 110volts missing from the relays that control the chuck. And 24v is missing from the spindle drive board.
I have been going through those wires! Could it be broken spindle drive board?
Im sure i have checked all of the fuses and many times.
That ice cube on the spindle is not pulling in at the start up or at any time but dont know when it should be pulling in or

Well, until you have 24, you're not likely to get 110 past the MCR. (Machine Control Relay)

Is the Spindle Drive Board s'posed to be producing/supplying this 24?
I'm guessin' "no". ???

So find the wires that are s'posed to have 24 on them, and trace them upstream.

Or even start by pulling the 24v supply wire off the control board, and see if it comes up.
There could be a short and it is pulling it down. It can happen, but more than likely the magic smoke just won't hold against a dead short.
