Need to level a Mori Sl-15 slant bed lathe. Don't have the turret plate

How would a guy level this lathe without the special turret plate? I really need to get this taken care of but have no idea how to true it up at this point. I guess maybe stick a bar in the spindle for one axis? That does not seem like a smooth way to do it though. Thoughts?
 
I will take a look on that but I really thought on the slant beds that the Z ways sit on a slant as well. Obviously the the X does.
 
If one of your turret stations are parallel with the ground (12 o'clock) put a precision level on it and just level it that way.

level it in the x and z direction, and then move it along the z to check for twist, should not be an issue for a small lathe like an sl-15.
