I'm trying to ID chamfer a 1/2" hole at 45 degrees for a home project, being relatively new to CNC and machining I am not quite sure how to setup the winmax conversational programming. I have a boring bar that will fit in nicely to get the job done.
Right now I am tempted to face into the part at the bottom edge of the 1/2" hole, add a 45 degree chamfer element, and turn in a slight amount. Does this sound reasonable?
This is a 2008 Hurco TM6 with Winmax.
Also, I am also trying to tap 4-40x1/8 and 10-32x1/8 holes in 416 Condition T. I've emailed Balax for cutter and drill sizes. Would I use these taps using rigid tapping but with the feeds and speeds provided by the tool vendor?
Thanks
