These are Stama machines. Some somewhat unique solutions. Toward the end of the first vid, you will see it working with 2x 4/5 turning/C spindles, and it can be bar fed!!!

Another demo of the dual 4/5 turn/c spindle doing a socket.

How about a dual mill spindle 5-axis mill/turn machine?

Or....if you really need production... how about a four (4) spindle 5-axis machine?

And for you gun lovers..... a breach....

I've always thought they were clever....

But, for the single milling spindle machine, wouldn't a B-axis lathe with a tool changer (okuma multus or the like) make more sense? It appears they can't apply b-axis style moves without moving the trunion, which means they cannot do b-axis cuts on a part with the tailstock engaged.

Also, don't they have to pre-cut the bar? They show the spindel-trunion rotating it (makes perfect sense) but on a lathe with a swinging b-head you could feed a long bar and then cut it down. On the stama machine it would seem to have to pre-cut the bar.

Of course, where they're milling irregular castings, they would seem to be a very strong solution.

The 2 spindle, 4 spindle, etc. machines seem very compelling if you happen to need to make such volumes.

If I ever git a new digi vid camera maybe I'll take a video of my old Bridgeport and add Hawaii 5-0 soundtrack and everyone will be amazed! :drool5:

LOL! ;)

Like Bryan said - it only self loads slugs, so there will be quite a drop off many parts. But still a very capable machine.

I didn't git a good sence of the toy changer. It really didn't show much on that. Seems that they split the vids ratt at that point most of the time. ???

No C on the sub?

Eny idea what max length is? Looks to be quite short seein's the need to spin it up for all endwerking...

Those ones milled off will have a heck'uv'a nasty on the end of them!

I have heard of them before, but not much. What is this - Kraut? (Swiss?)
