I'm not in love with the name, but it is impressive. They claim 1.5 to 2 times the chip load of a standard carbide drill.

The real fun starts at 2:50 when they drill 6.8mm holes in cast iron at 650IPM.

Wow

For 4140 steel with 10.3mm drill
I am only getting

SFM: 175 f/min
RPM: 1649
APT: 0.00424 in/rev
Feed: 20.96 in/min
MRR: 2.7 in^3/min
HP: 1.8
Torque: 68.4 in-lb
Breaking Torque: 94.9 in-lb

Their feed should generate 116.7 in-lb of torque...

Heh and someone was saying my calculator was crazy.....

Seriously they are showing 170% Feed any sane person would ever recommend.

....waiting for the 'its only cast iron' comment....

seriously though, I've crashed drills at slower speeds!

I liked the part where they drilled the holes.

"Mega Muscle Drill"? Well it is from Japan so that sounds about right.

I don't have enough coolant flow or fixture support for a drill I am using from Dormer, in al, now sandvik R587. Their starting feeds and speeds were mach f'ing booking and mach f'ing booking... I settled at 7000 and 120ipm. Which at a 10.3mm diameter ain't too shabby, less than half their recommended feed, but this is mostly due to the lack of support on the fixture. That being said, I find what they are doing in Iron to be a bit obsurd... ie .024 per tooth.. I don't see how a 6.something mm drill can handle that once it dulls up a little bit...
