I am in search on how to set up and understand all the parameters of using: the surface/solid and toolbox multi axis paths. I am proficient in using 2D/3D/and using the basic 5 axis classic toolpaths: curve, swarf, multi surface, drill/circlemill, and flow etc etc... Moving forward, I know that there are a million settings that you can configure with these paths.
Theres got to be a better way to roughing out a part instead of just indexing and setting up a Opti-rough path to remove the bulk of the material. It would be awesome to learn how to use the Opti-rough and convert 5 axis and wrap that puppy all around the part while using the collision control to make sure you dont shank out in tricky spots. But I have failed in trying to achieve this in mastercam.
more questions for you as the guru:
can you manipulate all the multi axis paths intuitively? If yes, then where did you learn this from?
books I have purchased:
cam instructor 4&5 axis book and inhouse solutions advanced Multi-axis essentials.
I have taken all the mastercam classes offered at our local community college.
And I work in a R&D environment
I look forward to your response.
