    Default Quick Change tooling adapter?

We have a large gantry mill, a Quickmill 180, with a nice big heavy right angle head attachment. I would like to utilize the RAH more often than we currently do, and I am looking for some quick change tool holders to do it. The biggest drawback right now, is the RAH has a threaded drawbar for holding tools, and tool changes are a pain. (Threads into retention knobs that have a threaded hole, 50 taper)

I don't expect to mill with a 6" Quatromill in a quick change tool, but I would like to drill/tap with quick change tools. Does anyone make a drill holder, or tool holding system, that would allow me to install a 50 taper adapter, and then using a ball lock or slider like a tap holder to change out between drills, taps, etc? Rigid enough to use Titex drills? Maybe rigid enough to bore with?

    Thanks.

There are a bunch of old-school systems, too. Erickson QuickChange, Devlieg Flash Change, SPI quick change in two or three sizes, even Weldon quick change (although that's not as quick). I've got an NMTB 50 to QC 40 adapter that's extremely handy. I use MT drill holders, endmill holders, shellmill holders and MicroBore FC tools in it.

FWIW, the Weldon system will accept Cat45 tools with a few modifications. That gives you a very broad range of inexpensive tools available used, and it's very sturdy. Requires that you loosen 2 3/8 setscrews to change tools, so it's not the fastest.

Adding PDQ-Marlin Quick Change to that old-school list...

Right Angle Heads, Angle heads, quick change tooling, PDQ-Marlin

Capto would change with a set screw? Similar to Kaiser bore holders/extensions?
