    Default Square Hole Drilling

    Has anybody ever seen a corner mill in action?

    I've seen tons of links to the same video...

    Six-Pack o

    and I'm curious if the toolholder and tooling has been made available yet in the US. I have a bunch of blind square holes to machine, and I'd love to find something faster and cheaper than a sinker EDM. This tool looks like just the ticket, although I can't find a source that can sell one.

    I have never used them myself but have heard of them and seen many video. It's called wobble broaching or rotary broaching. Here is a link for a distributor here in the states.

    Yes, that's what I'm looking for, and where can I buy the tool and holder? Surely soembody in the US must be importing them...

    I don't know where to get one but here's a link the 1956 popular mechanics article about building one:

    You would have to adapt the design a little to work in a mill.

    ya these things are around
    worked ata a place
    hey put a hex in the end of this
    like are u nuts
    it was on a lathe
    some kinda wobble deal
    a 5 sided cutter
    as you feed it into a drilled hole
    and i be dammed
    a 6 sided hole
    it was way cool
    sorry i cant help with info
    other than ya they are here
    and been for years
