A large methanol reactor requires a steel shell 4300mm in diameter by 4718mm high. The 47 ton shell includes a tube plate with holes up to 45mm in diameter drilled to a depth of 320mm. Severe conditions will test the structure which will be used in the conversion of methanol to olefin and due to this, emphasis has been placed on manufacturing components that will withstand these conditions with ease. Quality control during fabrication has been key to the standard of finished goods, our Innse Berardi 3-spindles drilling machine is capable of drilling holes up to 1.1m deep; coupled with ongoing inspections this machine delivered consistent accuracy of drilled holes. We are proud to display this work as a world class example to our customers.
