We have many specialty tooling and in many cases only the foreman knows what they are or to what product or program they belong. Documenting is one thing but marking has been a problem.
I searched through this site and could not find a thread that talked about it. I wonder why? Is there some method we don’t know about? Engraving is kind of difficult on hardened material. We found once epoxy paint in a tube you can write with. But that was difficult to use.
I was lately on a show and saw at the Mazak stand a tool holder with a donut shaped chip in the end of the pull-stud. I thought that was very nice. But you would have to put every tool through a reader to find what you are looking for.
What other options are there and who has it?
