I can't get my Hardinge VMC going. The axes won't jog from the control panel. The manual pulse generator does get them to move. On startup with these machines you have to jog the axes away from the home position and then home them. Until you do the machine won't run. I can't do the homing without the jogging working. No error messages or alarms come up. The service guy is here right now but he's scratching his head. Any ideas?

Hold P+cancel while powering up the control. this will overide the stored stroke and limit switches so you can jog away then re home "never hold del+reset while powering up though" this will set all parameters to 0's

Are you saying the keypad letter "P" and the keypad "can"? The letter "P" requires the "shift" key to be pushed first. I tried holding down all three keys during power up but I still can't move the axes. If it helps, the control is a fanuc 0i-M.
