    Default Turnin' off the "beep"

Is there a parameter to turn off the "beep" on my HAAS VF-2 controller?

I asked the service techs that, they say no. You can rotate the plastic housing to adjust the volume. You could probably go inside the enclosure and disconnect one wire easily.

A lot of people don't like that beep. I for one, do like it. It gives me an audible confirmation that I've pressed buttons firm enough to make them register.

On our Haas, we covered it with a big wad of tape. That made it much less annoying.

Unless you are refering to the "Beep at M30" and that can be shut off with Setting 39. That is very annoying...if the Operator can't tell the machine is not runnning...that beeping and flashing light don't help. All that beep does is piss me off, half a building away I'll hear that annoying beep while the guy just stands there clueless, my blood boils as I know he has yet to realize the machine is done...

Otherwise as Steel hand said, under the controller is a little "Rotater Thing" that shuts the door on the speaker, give is a turn to tone it down.
