The more i read about macro programing the more i want to know.

Do i need a special type of macro programing book for my machines controllers ?

Or is macro programing for CNC universal ?

Also can someone suggest a good macro programing book to me ?

I wanna learn !

Solar,
Your manuals should have the information in them. What controllers do you have? Macro is pretty universal in how it's done, but the syntax can change between control makers to some extent. For instance, Fanuc uses #xxx whereas Siemens uses Rxxx. With Fanuc (except the 31i series) you need macro B installed, but with Siemens macro functionality is standard fare.
Provide a bit more info and there is a lot of help available here at PM.

There is a sticky thread at the top of the list here that has quite a bit of good gravy on macros. That would be a place to start.

Yeah - you can pick up that book at Amazon or whatnot. As a buddy of mine once said "That's some pretty dry reading." LOL!

I found the first 1/3 to all be review - but he's gotta git everyone on the same page eh? I stalled at the 1/3 part. Need to git back on that one day...

Also - that book is for the Fanuc. You could help us out a wee bit and say what controls you have there...
