Hello,
I have a Mitsui 818 PCNC surface grinder with adjustable weight wheel adapters (also manufactured by Mitsui). All grinding is done with coolant (Astrogrind A), which is directed right at the wheel. Last week, I took off a wheel for rebalancing and noticed that rust had formed on the lapped interior of the adapter. I'm assuming that the coolant somehow got between the wheel and the adapter, leading to the corrosion. Is there any way for me to prevent the rust from forming? Furthermore, can I still use the adapter or should I send it in for refinishing?
Thank You!
