No. 40 size, turn by hand and hear a faint "scrape" noise with each revolution....350 degrees of dead silence and 10 degrees of scrape noise. The noise is louder when listening from above, so it is probably belt or pulley related. The cog belt looks perfect however. The question is, is it even possible it would be spindle bearing related ? Seems like any spindle bearing issue would result in a continuous noise or rumble....but I'm not 100 percent sure of that, thus this question.
FWIW, noise is the same with or without a tool in the spindle. When running under power, the scrape noise is audible only at really slow RPM's.... at about 400 rpm can no longer hear it. But suspect it is still there even at faster speeds as the spindle is not quite as quiet as a sistership I have.
