What are these Hardinge toolholder blocks for?

I have several of these types of toolholders from my Hardinge T51 Conquests

They actually came with the one machine that has live tools/C-axis. They fit into the wedge block opening of the turret, if the wedge blocks are taken out. Then bolt to the face of the turret with 4 cap screws

Just not sure what they are for.

Thanks

I've had my T51 for nigh 20 years, never seen a holder like that.
Heck, never had need for one like that either .... untill 2 months ago.
I made 2 of my own.

To hold a turning toy 90* from normal for cavity facing app, or .... ???

Those are tool holder extensions for clearance on a live tool machine - extends tool out and down to get clearance. Uses the same wedge you remove to install it in tool slot.
