Default Deckel FP3L DRO

Trying not to reinvent the wheel Has anybody done a DRO mounting on a Deckel FP3L? Machine is grey/early 1970's vintage. Any tips/suggestions appreciated.

Cheers, Lucky7

Not an "L" but have done a DRO on a normal FP3...
Mounted the "X" axis scale within the ways of the "X" axis slide covered with the bellows and all.
Required making a special bracket to get the reading head mounted where it would work.
Did a pasting with photos here some time back.

Might find this of interest:

FP3 DRO insatall "X" axis large

There are more of the setup on the "Y" and "Z" , but i can't find them just now.....
Cheers Ross

Lucky, if you PM me with your email address I took a couple of photos yesterday of the installations of scales(Sony) on my FP2LB(predecessor of the FP3L) which I can attach to an email. They're not brilliant but will give you the gist of it, where to fix them.Haven't got time to work out how to post pictures here, have hay to bring in.

Default FP3L fun

Thanks to both Ross and Swarfless for helpful pics and ideas. Ross- if you do find the pics of the other axis installs I'd love to see. I remembered your rebuild of a FP2 injcluding a brake lever but somehow missed your pics of your FP3. Very nice work!
